Crescent Beach Engagement Photos, Our Engagement - Surrey, B.C.

Can you guess how old I was in these photos? Admittedly, they were not taken THAT long ago…but 5 years does seem like awhile. It always fascinates me how I had the confidence and boldness to ever consider being engaged at 20 and getting married at 21. True, age is just a number, but thinking back on it, it does seem kind of crazy to me that we were so determined to start our life together at such a young age. Looking back on it now, of course I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s incredible to start building a life and legacy with your partner from the beginning. We can see the ways that we’ve grown together and push each other to be better people. And this is coming from a young 25 year old here so I know I’ve still got a long way to go!

Throughout our last year of high school, we had gotten to know each other a lot better through the serendipitous way that our schedules aligned: we had all but one of our classes together throughout the whole year. Of course we fell in ‘like’ and started dating right after graduation! So can we really say we’re high school sweethearts? I don’t know, that’s up for debate!

It was a warm spring morning and we had gone out to Stanley Park for a walk. After living in Surrey all my life, I had still somehow managed to not visit this Vancouver landmark. We shared a beautiful morning walk around the park and when we sat down on a bench, he pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him! For our engagement photos, we decided to go to Crescent Beach because we’d shared many dates and beach days there in the beginning of our relationship. I also just love the water and the scenery that the beach offers. Alba Photography was our photographer and we had such a great time with her.

So, if you were ever curious about this wedding photographer’s own engagement photos, here they are! Thank you Sarah of Alba Photography for capturing this season of our lives!
