UBC Rose Garden Wedding Photos - Vancouver, BC
It was summer of 2019. The sun was shining bright, the air was clear, and two lovers were about to commit to a lifetime together. Ashley and Alex were both excitedly getting ready to meet each other and start the day together. Before we get carried away with the rest of their day, let’s start at the very beginning of their journey...
They first met while in school at McGill. On the first day of moving into their dorms, Alex was the perfect Canadian gentleman and held the door open for her as she carried her things into the building. They spent time together throughout their education at McGill and built a foundation that they took with them for their long distance years to come. One of them went away to Australia and another went to Japan. Somehow, despite the time zone differences, they held onto each other from afar. On one of their summers away on vacation, they went camping on Vancouver Island. It was here under the stars that Alex proposed to Ashley, and she said yes! Yes to ending the long distance and yes to a lifetime together.
Their day was filled with celebration and a coming together of their family and friends. They hosted guests from nearby and also from afar, as far as South Africa and Japan! One of the things that they wanted to showcase to their community was the beauty of Vancouver’s mountains and the relaxing vibe of the west coast. University of British Columbia’s Rose Garden was the site of their open air ceremony. It offered the beautiful views and scenes that these two were looking for and their colours of forest and sage greens embodied the nature and woodlands of British Columbia. I loved being a part of their day and celebrating with the rest of their eclectic community!
